I am so happy to let you know that our Star Wars inspired collection will be back this year on May 3rd at 9am.
]]>
You can see all 17 Star Wars inspired colorways in our Lookbook here (just scroll down a bit).
All 17 Star Wars inspired colorways will be back along with 60 mini skein kits. Mini skeins will only be offered in these kits (sorry) and only 60 will be made, so if you have been thinking about getting one, set an alarm!
]]>Just 10 days until Clue #1 and we cast on for this MKAL. Victoriana is a toe up sock pattern that will be released in installments. I prefer to use a long circular for toe up patterns but you can certainly use DPNs if that is your jam. I will post two very helpful videos below from Nancy Wynn on how to cast on JMCO either way. What size needle works best? Most folks use US #1 or 2.25mm to get gauge but your mileage may vary so swatch if you are new to Must Stash so your socks will turn out perfectly. Victoriana pattern gauge is 36 sts, 44 rows = 4"/10 cm in stockinette stitch in the round.
Want to join our MKAL but you didn't get the kit? No worries! The pattern is available in Sivia Harding's Ravelry store and you can use any self striping (fingering weight) Must Stash skein you may have in stash with the caveat that I would suggest a colorway that has regularly spaced stripes like Gingerbread and not one with irregular stripes like Intergalactic or Stardust.
Our MKAL schedule:
A few good tutorials from Nancy Wynn:
JMCO with DPNs
JMCO with Magic Loop
And, just in case you are interested in knitting your socks two at one time via magic loop:

We have a shiny new Community Forum page. I hope you will drop by, sign up and join the conversation! Don't forget, the MKAL kicks off December 26th.
]]>Must Stash is delighted to be working with Cori Eichelberger aka Irocknits for the first time! Cori approached us with a sweet idea for a design using a handpainted colorway with a natural to mimic Christmas lights and snow. So sweet and nostalgic that we couldn't refuse!
Cori is releasing her combo design patterns this upcoming Tuesday the 23rd and will showcase them on her podcast. You can find all about Cori, her podcast and designs on her website here.
Kits will be in the shop Tuesday, November the 23rd at a discounted rate for the first day only and will include a skein of handpainted Noel and a skein of Natural for only $35 (afterwards for the regular price of $40).
]]>Thank you!

Must Stash:
Kit colorway, Yellowstone, is inspired by the natural beauty and splendor of that National Park. 12 stripes of untamed spirit of the West and majestic natural beauty; Bison Brown, Fireweed Russet Red, Sinopia Orange, Prickly Pear Cactus Flower Orange, Marsh Marigold Yellow, Bighorn Sheep Cream, Bison Brown, Pine Green, Grass Green, Geyser Blue, Sky Blue & Sandhill Crane Cream.
Yellowstone encompasses more than 2.2 million acres, most of it beyond the reach of roads. One could dedicate their entire life to experiencing the park and still never see it all! Learn more about the park with this informative brochure!
Perfect Self Striping
-perfect sock, fingering weight, 75/25 SW Merino/Nylon, 460 yards/ 100 gram
-must match set, two perfectly matched half skeins twisted together/each half skein starts and stops in the exact same place in the color sequence!
YARN CARE- hand wash with cool water and lay flat to dry
Since this is not how Martian Rainbow looks today which is bold and vibrant and would totally overwhelm this sweet pattern, I recreated that vintage vibe and named it London Rainbow. London is still a 12 step rainbow but as if through a mist
London premiered in the shop August 17th and was made an instant repeatable by our customer's enthusiastic response! London will go out of the shop on September 7th but will be back from time to time.
In the meantime, you can check out Nailya's sock design here on Ravelry.
]]>RP1 was the first and originally was a Great Read Colorway debuting in 2019. Tokyo Gogo followed in 2020 and Intergalactic this year as part of our Summer Concert Tour. RP1 has a silver grey tonal "background" whereas Tokyo Gogo has a smoky midnight blue and Intergalactic has semi-solid black. Each colorway is also different in the order/color of the mini-stripes. In the photo above, I lined up the yellow stripe across all three which makes it easy to see how differently each one stripes.
Ready Player One- silver grey
Tokyo Gogo- smoky midnight blue
Intergalactic- semi-solid black
Each one is similar but uniquely different at the same time. For the first time, all three will be offered in the August 3rd shop update!
]]>Our Christmas in July update will run from July 20th through the rest of the month. Almost all of our past holiday colorways will be available as well as this year's premier colorway, Wassailing!
Happy Shopping!

Happy Shopping!
]]>Thank you..see you then!
]]>Additionally we dropped a new colorway at each festival and for folks who had the luxury of shopping in person, they could turn in their concert tickets for a discount. It was a lot of fun and I really think we should do this again some year (maybe for our 10th anniversary?).
Each year we add on a new headliner to our tour and bring back past headliners as the opening acts. Our repertoire has expanded from the 4 Pink Floyd inspired colorways to over 17 colorways! This year's headliner is Intergalactic inspired by the incomparable Beastie Boys! 16 stripes of black alternated with neon pinstripes make up this head turning colorway.
I hope you will enjoy the tour and enjoy your summer very much.
]]>12 stripes of soft hand speckled rainbow colors alternated with deep chocolate brown for a delicious knitting experience.
]]>UPDATED 2-22-21: We were without power for most of the week! Over the weekend, the temps rose, the snow melted, our power came back on and our boil notice was cancelled. We will be back at work on Monday but will not have an update on Tuesday the 23rd in an effort to get caught up with our orders currently in queue. Thank you for your emails of encouragement and for your understanding!
]]>12 rainbow stripes of super-happy-fun-time to lift your spirits to soar above the clouds. This colorway will take you back to those simpler days of creating freeform art with colorful pegs and light in your bedroom and being mesmerized.
Want to make this pop even more? Pair it with our Inkwell black Halfsy!

]]>From the designer Stephanie:
These fingerless mitts are a fuss-free project that will fly off your knitting needles. Using a combination of ribbing and twisted ribbing, you never have to work a single complicated stitch. The ribbing allows these mitts to stretch and adapt to the shape of your hands, making this a great project for gift knitting. The long cuff means that there will never be a gap between your mitt and your coat sleeve. Knit in self-striping yarn, these mitts go from easy and practical to downright exhilarating. This pattern includes a helpful tip for transitioning between your stripes as you work in ribbing and twisted ribbing. This little skill will make your
stripes look tidy and professional and come in handy later when you knit hats or sleeves. Let your yarn take you on a rainbow adventure while you knit these sweet little fingerless mitts.
You can pick up your must match set of Vespa in the shop today and knit yourself a Rainbow Adventure!
]]>From the Publisher:

Stephanie’s spectacular designs go way beyond traditional striped socks, using new and exciting ways to showcase these beautiful yarns in sweaters, hats, cowls and more.
Whether you’re building your knitting skills or looking for fresh inspiration, self striping yarn is truly your secret weapon for knitting garments that shine. Statement sweaters like the Sock Arms Cardigan knit up unexpectedly quickly with so many exciting colors to hold your interest. This collection includes a wide range of sizes for adults, as well as adorable variations for kids. Designed to surprise and delight, these unique patterns will brighten up your hand-knit wardrobe and make cheerful gifts for family and friends.
We were so excited to see that the first pattern from the book to be promoted was the Bright Axis Tee which features Must Stash's ever popular Kama colorway of 20 happy stripes paired with Charcoal, a medium grey tonal! Just delightfully fun and happy! Kit's for the Bright Axis Tee were available in early December and will be available again a la carte and mostly as dye to order beginning tomorrow January 19th!
Here is what Stephanie has to say about designing the super cute tee:
There is practically nothing I love more than knitting in stockinette stitch. These days, when I am packing up my project bag for long car rides or the kids’ activities, I don’t reach for socks—I grab a sweater. Stockinette sweaters are knitting heaven, especially when there is a rainbow at the end of the stockinette tunnel. And by tunnel, I obviously mean the body of my sweater. This sweater plays with the traditional drop shoulder construction by turning the yoke on its axis. Flattering vertical stripes stretch from shoulder to shoulder in this casual summer tee. Even though this little sweater has huge impact, there isn’t a single complicated stitch in the entire pattern. Knitting bonus: This tee can be easily customized by using the “Getting the Right Fit” section. Perfect for long color sequences and dramatic color changes, this tee will be the project you want to grab every time you head out the door.
Stephanie designed Bright Axis Tee in an inclusive size range, from XS to 7XL, and even included a "Getting the Right Fit" section to help you modify your size to, well, get the right fit! You will need 32" circular needles in US size 3 & 5 and for most sizes just 2 skeins of Kama and 2 skeins of Charcoal for a budget happy knit that you will want to wear over and over.
]]>We are knitting Sivia Harding's Candy Kisses Socks which is a toe up design with a flap and gusset heel that has an incredible fit and a sweet, tiny cable of x's and o's going up each side of the leg
Now that IG is finally allowing us to sort tags by "recent", it has been very nice to see your sock WIPs as they progress. If you haven't checked it out yet, you can by searching for #hardcandychristmaskal on IG and then heart your fellow KALers!
I am very happy with my own progress, although I have slacked off over the last few days and so need to carve out some time this evening to do an inch or so. Both of my socks are past the heel and I have knit 1 and a half repeats of the cable up the leg. I should be able to knit the cable without using a cable needle and I appreciate that Sivia included a link to a nice tutorial but, it is just easier for me to use a cable needle even on these tiny two stitch cables. I picked up a Cocoknits Maker's Keep a few years back and it is a lifesaver or more aptly, a needle saver when knitting cables. Do you use a cable needle or do you prefer to go sans needle when cabling?
Leave a comment below, letting me know how your socks are coming along!

We are absolutely thrilled and honored to have the talented Sivia Harding as our host once again! As you may recall, Sivia was our host last December for the Walking into Winter/Hobbit Christmas KAL and we couldn't be happier that she was able to lead our winter KAL once again! This year's pattern is called Candy Kisses which features a sweet cable on each side of the leg but still has the bones of my favorite toe up pattern, Toe Ups for All, which makes it twice as nice.
Cast on was December 1st but there is still plenty of time if you were unable to start yesterday. To have our socks done by Christmas, we are going to want to divide the sock by time. For example, my foot is 8.5" long and I want my cuffs to be 6" so a total of 14.5" per sock or 29" total. I cast on yesterday so that means that I need to knit 29" in 23 days or 1.25" per day. With a row gauge of 11 per inch, I need to knit about 14 rounds or 2-3 stripes per day to stay on track making sure that I am to the heel of the first sock by the 6th unless I decide to cast on the second sock and knit them in tandem in which case, I will need to be at the heel for both by the 12th. I am feeling a lot of excitement for this project right now and it is actually hard to put it down after just a few stripes so I started rooting through my languishing WIPS and put a few rounds on a sweater last night, so that was good.
Are you fastidiously planning out your timeline/schedule or going with the flow? Are you going to knit your socks as fast as you can or enjoy the relaxed pace of this advent style KAL? Let me know your thought and how are your Candy Kisses coming along by leaving a comment below and I would love to see pics, too!
Hello lovely KALers, tomorrow is Cast On day and much like Schrödinger's cat, our Christmas day socks have all the potential they may ever have right now today. Will they be long socks or shorties? Will you knit them singly, in tandem or two at a time? So many choices and they are all yours to make! Have you been daydreaming about how your socks will look, fit and feel? Just me? No, I know I am in like minded company here! I know you too cannot help but to think on all these question and especially how fun the cast on will be and whether or not you will stop just after the toe increases or keep going. I would love to read your thoughts so let me know in the comments below!
But first, let's talk a little housekeeping (not real housekeeping-settle down).
Sivia and I are so pleased by all of the excitement for this new pattern and KAL and want you to know how happy we are that you will be knitting along and sharing your WIPs this upcoming month.

We are absolutely thrilled and honored to have the talented Sivia Harding as our host once again! As you may recall, Sivia was our host last December for the Walking into Winter/Hobbit Christmas KAL...I think we have a lovely holiday tradition shaping up. When thinking of what to knit this December, I considered a few different patterns but came back to my love for Sivia's Toe Ups for All. I adore the heel/gusset detail and so contacted her about using it for this year's KAL. Sivia for her part was excited to host our KAL again but had an idea to make it even sweeter by designing a new pattern just for us. With the cast on just days away, Sivia is busily putting the finishing touches on a new pattern called Candy Kisses which features a sweet cable on each side of the leg but still has the bones of the TUFA which makes it twice as nice. I couldn't be more happy to share this new pattern with you!
Subscribe to our KAL newsletter so you won't miss any KAL related info. December 1st is just a few days away (Tuesday!) and so in the meantime, wind your yarn, download the pattern, get your needles ready (US #1 or 2.25mm) and leave a comment below to say if you will be joining us (I hope so)!
